Chan Mitchell, Lead Pastor

I serve as the primary teacher of the Scriptures, while overseeing the vision, mission, and core strategies of The Ridge.  I pastor and lead the staff, lay leaders and our congregation.

My undergrad degree is in business information systems from the University of West Georgia. I also hold a master’s degree in ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a doctorate in ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Amber, for 22 years and we have three children, Emma, Bryson and Cayson.  I was born and raised in Blue Ridge, Georgia.

At the age of seven, I devoted my life to Christ and during my college years, God began to lead me to full-time Christian ministry. From 1997 until 2010, I served as a student pastor. In 2010, God called me, and several others, to start The Ridge Community Church.  It’s been an adventure ever since.

In my spare time, I love fly fishing, camping and kayaking.
